Q. What is self storage?

A. Self Storage is an easy, flexible storage solution. Individuals and companies can store goods in their own exclusively occupied, self-contained, secured rooms/spaces. Self-Storage is ideal for when moving home, or creating more space at your existing property. Self-Storage is a perfect solution for business to store space without the need to be tied into a lease or long-term rental agreement.

 

Q. Will my possessions be safe?

A. You can be rest assured that your stored goods are extremely well protected with well lit corridors, smoke detectors and 24 hour CCTV surveillance. You are the only person that holds the key to your personal padlock. With your personnel pin number you will be able to access our building 24 hours a day.

 

Q. What are your opening times?

A. We are open 7 days per week for access to hired units. Our reception opening hours are: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm, Saturday 9am – 4pm and Sunday by appointment only.

 

Q. Can I view the storage units before I rent?

A. Yes, of course it is always advisable to view a unit, please just ask at reception and take look.

 

Q. Can I hire a unit today?

A. Yes. If we have an available unit for you and subject to completing out the paperwork, you can move your possessions in right away.

 

Q. What do I need to bring with me to rent a unit?

A. Two forms of ID are required, one from the Photo ID list and one from the Address list:

Photo ID - the only qualifying ID is one of the following :
• Current, valid passport
• Photograph bearing valid current National ID card
• Current valid new style driving licence (i.e photo)

Address verification - one of the following :
• Something from the Photo ID list in addition to that already provided e.g. if a passport was provided, a driving licence could then be used as the second ID
• Utility company correspondence (but not mobile phones)
• Local Authority correspondence
• Bank or Building Society statement or mortgage related correspondence
• Benefits Agency correspondence

Please ensure it is :
• dated within the last 3 months
• clearly indicates your name and address
• contains some account information such as account numbers

Q. Are there any hidden charges?

A. No, all you pay is for the rental of your unit. There are no extra charges for lighting, heating or how many times you access your unit. We are members of the UK Self Storage Association and abide by strict trading procedures.

 

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

A. Your first payment must be either by debit or credit card. Subsequent payments can either be taken by direct debit or by automatic monthly withdrawals from your card.

 

Q. What can I store?

A. You can store nearly anything, furniture, decorations, garden furniture, bicycles etc. You cannot store explosives, firearms, chemicals or compressed gasses, perishable or illegal items. Motorbikes etc must be drained of fuel and oil before storing. If in doubt contact us on 0800 048 2748.

 

Q. How do I lock my unit?

A. Either purchase a padlock at reception or simply bring your own, you keep the keys!

 

Q. How can I access my unit?

A. You can access your unit 24 hours a day. Simply enter the building with your personnel PIN code.

 

Q. Do you sell packing materials?

A. Yes we sell a wide range of boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper etc. Just ask at reception or to visit our packing section Click Here >

 

Q. Are my items insured?

A. Not automatically. You must confirm you have insurance cover for your goods. Most household contents policies do not cover goods in storage. We can arrange cover for you through Pound Gates and Company a specialist broker in self-storage insurance. Alternatively you can access an internet company Insurastore.com.

 

Q. What is the minimum rental period?

A. The minimum rental period is 7 days but we normally run on a monthly basis.

 

Q. Do I have to serve notice if I want to leave?

A. We require one weeks notice prior to your departure.
